The route for the new LV service ran along heavily trafficked routes, therefore both vehicular management was carefully considered as well as pedestrians. This would minimise the impact to the residents and users of the Coalburn Leisure Centre.

Over 500m of excavation, duct laying, cable installation and full reinstatement was undertaken by IUS from the SPEN point of connection to site. Point of connection identification, jointing and cable testing were also completed in accordance with SPEN specifications.

IUS fulfilled the role as Principal Contractor for the connection, implementation and management of all works associated with the project, including a rolling traffic management scheme to align with the progress of the works.

IUS effected all communication and liaison with the residents and key stakeholders, ensuring full awareness of the works, their progress and successful completion.
