Position Overview

A Quantity Surveyor is required to control the commercial functions within the IUS business. The successful candidate will support the business and take responsibility for the end-to-end commercial process for all projects; further enhance the businesses commercial strength and margins by improving commercial reporting accuracy, cash flow, reducing risk in change control and WIP. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial reporting including forecasting
  • Work alongside operational team to produce accurate CVRs
  • Assisting in estimating and procurement
  • Manage client interface
  • Risk management including change control and WIP management 
  • Contract Administration
  • Aid in subcontract procurement, ensuring best value for money and lowest risk achieved at all times
  • Payment and debt management
  • Scheme closures and feedback loop to T & E team
  • Attend internal and external (Client) meetings
  • Final account compilation / submission

Essential qualifications & attributes

Qualifications & Experience:

  • HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential
  • Experience in the construction industry is essential
  • Experience with scheme finance and commercial management is essential
  • Ability to understand and respond to contract issues
  • MRICS or MCIOB is desirable
  • Experience in the utility construction industry with a complete understanding of gas, water and electric distribution infrastructures is desirable
